筑波会議2023セッション参加者が生命環境系を表敬訪問

９月2７日、筑波会議2023セッション「Agriculture X AI: Self Sufficiency in Food Production to Achieve Society 5.0 and SDGs Globally」（モデレーター：生命環境系トファエル・アハメド准教授）に参加する６つの国・地域（台湾、マレーシア、フィリピン、インドネシア、スリランカ、バングラデシュ）から7名（詳細は下記）の参加者が生命環境系を訪問しました。

生命環境系からは、生命地球科学研究群・中田和人研究群長、トファエル・アハメド准教授、粉川美踏助教がミーティングに参加しました。中田研究群長から歓迎の挨拶があった後、トファエル准教授から本学の国際交流活動について説明がありました。参加者からは生命環境系との協定締結を含めた交流の可能性について質問があり、活発な意見交換が行われました。

また、生命環境系訪問後、国際局・大根田修局長、国際交流支援室・野村名可男室長（生命環境系・准教授）を訪問しました。大根田局長からは、セッションのテーマである農業とAIは注目の研究分野であり、この分野におけるコラボレーションに期待できること、コンソーシアム形成による東南アジア地域との交流の可能性についても言及がありました。

今回の訪問を受け、参加者の所属大学、団体との交流が期待されます。

Attendees of Tsukuba Conference 2023 visited Institute of Life and Environmental Sciences

On September 27, 7 Attendees of Tsukuba Conference 2023 session “Agriculture X AI: Self Sufficiency in Food Production to Achieve Society 5.0 and SDGs Globally” (Moderator: Associate Professor Tofael Ahamed, Institute of Life and Environmental Sciences) visited Institute of Life and Environmental Sciences. They are from 6 countries/regions (Taiwan, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh). Please see the details of attendees in the list above and URL below.

From Institue of Life and Environmental Sciences, Professor NAKADA Kazuto, Dean of Degree Programs in Life and Earth Sciences, Associate Professor Tofael Ahamed and Assistant Professor KOKAWA Mito attended the meeting. Dean Nakada gave a greeting to the guests and Associate Professor Tofael explained the international activities of University of Tsukuba. The attendees asked about the collaboration including the possibilities of making the agreement and exchanged opinions actively.

After the visit to LES, the guests visited Professor OHNEDA Osamu (Executive Officer, Director-General of the Bureau of Global Initiatives) and Assoc. Prof. NOMURA Nakao (Director of the Office of International Exchange Support). Professor OHNEDA referred that the research area of AI and Agriculture are drawing attention and University of Tsukuba looked forward to having collaborations in this research area. In addition, he said the possibility of collaboration by making consortium with Southeast Asian area.
