Summer Season (Part 2) – (Ummu, August 2019)

Peace be upon you and こんにちは.The starting of summer month means it’s summer break for us (students).

Summer break in Japan is really interesting as there are a lot of festivals. Japan is full of mind-blowing Festivals or Matsuri (祭) and the must watch during summer in Japan is the fireworks or Hanabi (花火). It is really interesting to see people having a great time to take a stroll in the streets, wearing full traditional dress, yukata (浴衣), dancing in the parade, and eating delicious Japanese local delicacy. I also have the chance to witness Yosakoi dance. Yosakoi dance is a traditional dance originated in Kochi Prefecture.

Since it’s summer break, I visited Sado Island in Niigata Prefecture which is 2 hours by shinkansen from Tokyo Station. I was mesmerised by the view of the island, it’s one of the largest island in Japan. Sado Island is famous for its clear waters, shores and silver and gold mines.I personally would recommend people coming to Japan to visit Sado Island.

Apart from that, in conjunction with Tokyo 2020, I had the chance to watch Tokyo 2020 Olympic test event of hockey match between Malaysia versus India in Shinagawa.
